the legacy of the Triangle story and of the 146 workers who lost their lives as a result of the fire is the reason why workers' rights were emboldened.The legacy is mainly why people remember this story, it can be as a study of political power more so where it comes from .. what it stands for. This was a time when capitalism was big and people such as owners and bosses took great advantages over the lives of average people.
ReplyDeletein 1909, more than 20,000 shirtwaist workers, most of them women, went on strike for better wages and union recognition. the irony of it all is that what they were fighting for is what killed them. This gained the rights of these individuals, showing that something new had to be done in order to avoid such great tragedy
